Job summary

Alice & Bob is seeking an experienced physicist to own the numerical simulation strategy for their superconducting qubits. You will define the simulation approach from microwave design to qubit dynamics, judge trustworthy results, and drive improvements across the stack.

You will lead a team of physicists and engineers in a broad, high-impact role. You will work with domain experts to set direction, mentor senior scientists, and shape the roadmap for simulation tools while collaborating closely

Qualifications

• 7+ years post-PhD experience in quantum physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, quantum information, or computational physics.
• Proven track record of technical leadership in simulation or modeling at an organizational level.
• Broad, hands-on mastery across the full simulation chain from device physics to numerical implementation.
• Deep experience simulating superconducting qubits or comparable systems.
• Strong software engineering foundations for scientific computing (Python, NumPy/SciPy or JAX, Git).
• Ability to mentor senior scientists and build consensus among specialists.

Responsibilities

• Own the predictive performance of the simulation stack end to end.
• Set the standard for trustworthy results across microwave, quantum, and numerical simulations.
• Identify bottlenecks and drive improvements in performance, robustness, and model fidelity.
• Shape the roadmap for simulation tools, collaborating with domain experts.
• Validate simulations against experimental results and loop with lab measurements.
• Act as the go-to authority on simulation methodology across the team.
