Deezer in Paris invites a highly motivated intern to join the Strategy and M&A team under the Chief Strategy Officer. You will work with a small, diverse team, gaining hands-on experience in the dynamic music streaming industry and corporate development priorities.

The role offers exposure to market research, strategic planning, M&A screening, financial analysis, and presenting insights to senior leadership, with cross-functional collaboration across Finance, Legal, Product, and other teams.

Qualifications

• Currently in final year or gap year (césure) at a top-tier school.
• Experience with a well-known international consulting firm or in corporate finance would be appreciated.
• Strong analytical, research and problem-solving abilities.

Responsabilités

• Conduct in-depth market research and strategic analysis of trends and opportunities in music streaming.
• Support development of corporate strategy and business cases; build and update Excel models for scenarios.
• Assist in screening potential targets and due diligence for M&A and corporate development.
• Prepare presentations for senior leadership with clear findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Product and other teams to support strategic initiatives.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical intern to join our Strategy and M&A team under the guidance of Deezer’s Chief Strategy Officer.

As an intern, you will have the unique opportunity to work closely with a small team of two people coming from diverse backgrounds, including consulting and M&A, gaining hands‑on experience in the dynamic and rapidly evolving music streaming industry.

This role offers exposure to critical strategic initiatives and the chance to contribute directly to Deezer’s growth and corporate development priorities.

What you will do

• Market Research and Strategic Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify trends, assess the competitive landscape, and explore emerging opportunities in the music streaming and entertainment industry.
• Strategic Planning and Business Cases: Support the development and refinement of corporate strategy, including market entry, growth and expansion plans. Develop and update Excel models to support business cases, scenario analysis and strategic recommendations.
• M&A and Corporate Development: Assist in screening potential targets and conducting due diligence, including financial analysis, market positioning, business model assessment and risk analysis.
• Presentations: Prepare and contribute to presentations for senior leadership, summarising findings, recommendations and insights in a clear and compelling way.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across the organization, including Finance, Legal, Product and other business teams, to support the execution of strategic initiatives.

This is a 6-month internship starting in January 2027, based in Paris.

Qualifications

• You are currently in a final year or gap year (“césure”) at a top‑tier business or engineering school
• First experience with a well‑known international consulting firm or in corporate finance (investment banking, private equity) would be highly appreciated
• You have strong analytical skills with excellent research and problem‑solving abilities
• Able to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and international environment
• You have excellent written and oral communication skills, both in English and in French
• You are attracted by the tech/start‑up environment, and a passion for the music and entertainment industry is a plus
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
