A dynamic tech company is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to own and scale the Ruby on Rails layer of their AI-native data platform. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of backend engineering experience, specifically in B2B SaaS and Ruby on Rails. Responsibilities include building core product features, enhancing API design, and collaborating with frontend teams. This role offers hybrid work, equity incentives, and ample time off.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience with deep experience in Ruby on Rails.
• Strong track record building B2B SaaS products with complex dashboards.
• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL including migrations and data integrity.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating APIs at scale.
• Solid knowledge of authentication systems like OAuth, SSO.
• Strong grasp of system design and architectural trade-offs.
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architectures.
• Familiarity with event-driven systems and background job processing.

Responsabilités

• Own the Rails backend powering the B2B SaaS product.
• Design and evolve a clean, expressive GraphQL API.
• Build robust systems for authentication and billing.
• Partner with frontend engineers for quality dashboards.
• Ensure performance and correctness of PostgreSQL data models.
• Make architectural decisions balancing product velocity and scalability.
• Shape engineering culture and mentor team members.
• Act as a technical owner for large product areas.
