Datadog is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the Data Semantics team, shaping semantic infrastructure and standards for telemetry. You will balance production stewardship with exploring new platform capabilities.

In a hybrid workplace, you will mentor engineers, drive cross-team initiatives, and partner with product teams to ensure scalable, observable data models across Datadog’s platform.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating large-scale data infrastructure.
• Staff-level technical leadership with architectural ownership.
• Strong communication across engineering and product teams.

Responsabilités

• Lead the technical direction of the Data Semantics team with hands-on design and delivery.
• Build and scale semantic infrastructure bridging OpenTelemetry, Datadog telemetry, and customer data models.
• Drive platform initiatives on schema evolution, telemetry standardization, and interoperability.
• Mentor engineers and participate in on-call rotations resolving complex incidents.
