Maersk is seeking a Solution Design Engineer to help establish the Contract Logistics capabilities in Europe. You will lead warehousing solution design for large-scale opportunities, applying your operational experience and analytical approach.

Based in one of Paris, Lille, Marseille or Denain, you will work onsite five days a week, collaborating with cross-functional teams to win new business while ensuring HSSE and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience with international supply chains and value drivers in logistics.
• Ability to translate data into actionable warehouse solutions.
• Knowledge of warehousing technologies and WMS systems.
• Comfort working in a matrix, multi-cultural organisation.

Responsabilités

• Design warehousing solutions including layouts, resources, IT requirements, processes and costs with HSSE compliance.
• Develop and prepare new logistics concepts and value propositions based on best technical and organizational solutions.
• Own value propositions with pre- and post-sales engagement from sales, pricing and operations teams.
• Build market knowledge and share with sales and the wider business, acting as a centre of excellence.

About The Role

As a Maersk Solution Design Engineer, you will be an integral part of establishing the Contract Logistics capabilities in Europe. You will be a key driver for growth using your operational experience and strong analytical approach to act as the subject matter expert on designing and solutioning warehouse/cold store proposals supporting the local sales organizations to win large scale opportunities.

What You’ll Be Doing

• In support of customer proposals you will be involved with the design of warehousing solutions including lay-outs, resource calculations, IT requirements, operational processes and flows, costs and in accordance with HSSE requirements.


• You will develop and prepare new logistics concepts and value propositions based on identified best technical and organizational solutions.


• Your area-accountable for the value propositions which are sold are fully scoped with robust pre- and post-sales engagement and commitment from commercial, solutions, pricing and operational pursuit team members. Engage pro-actively in the sales process for contract logistics opportunities, to act the subject matter expert and technical support to area sales safe-guarding operational viability of the solutions sold.


• Build market and product knowledge and ensure this information is shared with all relevant stakeholders, sales and colleagues in the wider business. Act as a centre of excellence adopting and sharing best practices with the solution design community across Europe.

What You Bring

• Significant experience in International Supply Chains with strong understanding of the value drivers of supply chain and how that can help customers deliver value to their business


• Focused on customer needs and have a data data driven approach with the ability to analyse and make the translation into appropriate solutions and actions plans.


• Strong Contract Logistics operational background and understanding, incl. extensive knowledge of technologies that support warehousing processes with proven pan European vertical specific understanding on trade / regulatory / statutory and security compliance requirements and technological solutions.


• Numerate, financially astute and analytical with strong knowledge of Logistics processes and solution design outlines and methodologies,


• Solid technology skills that include a comprehensive understanding of WMS requirements.


• Enjoys collaboration and with proven track record in a matrix, multi-cultural organisation, building strong relationships and networks both locally and internationally.


• Agile and self-starter Strong that enjoys working in a high pace and versatile environment.


• 5 days per week onsite presence at one of the advertised locations (Paris, Lille, Marseille, Denain)
