UL Solutions is seeking a Software Implementation consultant to support and configure our Wire and Cable software for customers. The role covers UI configuration and more technical work using SQL, JavaScript, and XML forms.

The position requires strong English and fluency in either French or German, with a hybrid work model based across Europe (Saclay, Barcelona or Frankfurt) to collaborate with colleagues in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in software implementation or support.
• Degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.
• Fluent English with fluency in French or German to support collaboration across the EMEA region.

Responsabilités

• Provide client support including reports at key times of the year.
• Advise and assist clients in maintaining and enhancing their application.
• Configure the system via the UI per defined requirements.
• Work with technical teams to resolve system and configuration issues.
• Attend customer meetings and provide status updates to the supervisor.

Job Description

This exciting role as a Software Implementation consultant in our Configuration group will work as part of a team to support and configure our Wire and Cable software for our customers.

This role focuses on:

• UI based configuration elements of the Implementation
• More technical elements of the Implementation which will require knowledge of SQL, JavaScript and authoring of data collection forms using XML
• Supporting our customers and relationship building

We are looking for a strong communicator with excellent English skills, combined with fluency in either French or German. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across the EMEA region and contribute to a dynamic, multicultural team.

Responsibilities

Consultancy and Configuration

• Provide support to existing clients including report generation at critical times of the year
• Advise and assist the client in maintaining and enhancing their application
• Configure the system as per the defined requirements using the system user interface
• Work with technical teams to resolve system and configuration issues
• Attend customer meetings and calls as and when required in support of larger implementation project, ensuring a professional image at all times
• Provide status updates, highlight risks and issues to supervisor (within the project and/or people manager)

Dedicated Consultancy

• Advise and assist the client in maintaining and enhancing their application
• Serve as the main point of contact for key customers

Techincal Configuration

• Build and maintain custom forms using XML/SQL build scripts

Qualifications

Skills Required/Desired

• Minimum commercial experience of 2 years. Experience in software implementation and / or support, a plus.
• Strong academic background in a relevant discipline e.g. computer science, engineering, sustainability or equivalent also a plus.
• The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills in English are essential, together with fluency in either French or German to support collaboration across the EMEA region.

Required skills, knowledge and characteristics based on responsibilities

• Strong working knowledge of Excel required
• Detail-oriented and analytical thinking
• Familiarity with web-based applications
• Ability to learn new software applications rapidly
• Effective communicator with good interpersonal skills as this is a customer-facing role

Techincal Configuration

• Experience with relational databases and use of SQL
• Working knowledge of XML is ideal
