Metreecs in Paris is seeking a software engineering intern to join the team on-site in Paris for a six-month period starting September–November. You will contribute to a growing startup, shipping hands-on features and learning from engineers who have shipped at scale.

We offer real ownership from your first week, a YC-backed startup at a pivotal stage, and daily mentorship. Work spans backend, frontend, database, and infra, with opportunities to move to full-time if it clicks.

Hi, we are looking for a software engineering intern to work directly with the team in Paris.

What you'll work on

Our roadmap moves fast; what you'll ship in your first month isn't on the board today. But a taste of what's live right now:

• AI agents: assistants that reason about inventory decisions
• Query optimisation: PostgreSQL at a scale where EXPLAIN ANALYZE is a daily read
• Real-time data at scale: SSE, Redis pub/sub, synchronisation of Kubernetes pods
• Frontend craft: virtualised data tables, faceted filters, charts

Who we're looking for

If you've shipped a side project, contributed to open source, spent a weekend hunting down a weird bug, optimised something nobody asked you to optimise, or obsessed over the details of a UI until it felt right, we want to talk to you.

You'll fit in here if you:

• Have solid software engineering fundamentals
• Can dig on your own, and know which questions are worth asking
• Care about the craft, not just closing the ticket
