Part Time: Extra Help

This position is a first‑line greeter in the 125-seat Mt. Magazine Lodge Restaurant. Duties include greeting customers, setting up tables, taking food orders, waiting on guests, serving food, and cleaning tables. Additional duties include operating a cash register, as well as setup and wait service for banquets and conferences.

Regular contact with food service personnel and the general public; excellent public relations skills required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays. Will be paid an hourly rate plus tips. A criminal background check is required.

The position offers paid holidays and retirement pension.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet or exceed the following basic qualification: the ability to read and write. Other job‑related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval.

Primary Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary needs or allergies are addressed.
• Deliver food and beverages in a timely and professional manner.
• Check in with guests regularly to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Handle guest concerns or complaints professionally and efficiently.
• Stay informed about menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
• Follow proper alcohol service laws and guidelines in compliance with Arkansas ABC regulations.
• Provide information about daily specials, promotions, and seasonal offerings.
• Accurately enter orders into the point‑of‑sale (POS) system.
• Process guest payments, including cash, credit, and state‑approved payment methods.
• Ensure proper handling of state‑issued meal vouchers or government discounts.
• Follow Arkansas Department of Health food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of tables, service stations, and dining areas.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down dining areas for events or large parties.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation.
