Black Pen Recruitment is seeking a Senior Test Engineer fluent in English to join a leading IT services company in Strasbourg. The role is based on-site in France and involves integration with the Development team for testing across enterprise systems.

You will plan tests, write scenarios and data, run tests, and manage defects in an agile setting, with API testing and SQL/database work as key components of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• University degree in IT with at least 7 years of IT experience.
• Experience creating efficient test approaches, test planning, test scenarios, test case creation and execution.
• Experience in API testing using Postman, Kreya or similar tools.
• Experience using DBs and SQL, containerized solutions and observability tools.
• Experience in writing and editing automated tests.
• Experience with system integration testing.
• End User (UAT) management.
• Experience with Test and Defect Management tools.
• Experience in agile software development and testing methodologies.

Responsabilités

• Define the scope of testing within the context of each product and release by collaborating with Test Engineers, defining test approaches and reviewing and writing test scenarios.
• Planning test activities, follow up on progress and approach by ensuring priority alignment inside the team, driving alignment with the involved parties in setting up the environments and tools.
• Prepare assessment of the product quality by reviewing requirements, design documentation, creating the test scenarios, test cases and test data including automation of the test cases.
• Run assessment of the product quality by running tests and reporting on the outcome.
• Continuously assess and look for ways to improve the quality of the product including requirements review and improvement to the testing approach.
• Leverage test analysis and test automation patterns to ensure requirement coverage, fast and reliable test execution.

Our client, a leading Software, Information and Communication Technologies company, operates internationally (Athens, Brussels, Luxembourg, Copenhagen, Stockholm, London, Nicosia, Hong-Kong, Valetta, etc). Our client is a renowned supplier of IT services to government institutions, multinational corporations, public administrations and multinational companies, research and academic institutes.

Role Overview

Our client currently has a vacancy for a Senior Test Engineer fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in France. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team.

Requirements

• University degree in IT combined with relevant IT professional experience of at least 7 years;
• Hands on experience in creating efficient test approaches, test planning, test scenarios, test case creation and execution;
• Experience in API testing using Postman, Kreya or similar tools;
• Experience using DBs and SQL, containerized solutions and observability tools;
• Experience in writing and editing automated tests;
• Experience with system integration testing;
• Excellent knowledge of testing standards, methods;
• Defect Management including prioritization of defects and root cause analysis;
• Experience in complex, enterprise system integration;
• End User (UAT) management;
• Experience with Test and Defect Management tools;
• Experience in agile software development and testing methodologies;
• Ability to understand business context, define priorities, communicate with technology focused teams and communicate the outcome of test campaigns;
• Excellent command of the English language.
