Job summary

Malt in Lyon is seeking a Senior Engineering Leader to shape and deliver high-impact software projects. You’ll guide backend architecture, set the technical vision, and drive excellence across multiple squads.

You’ll mentor engineers, promote best practices, and coordinate with product managers and engineering managers to align technical goals with business priorities. English is essential; French is a nice bonus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience, with product company exposure (SaaS/fintech/marketplace).
• Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin and backend systems.
• Excellent written and spoken English; French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-impact projects across multiple squads or systems.
• Architectural design of scalable, robust software solutions.
• Set short- and long-term technical vision and roadmaps.
• Promote best practices, coding standards, and high-quality processes.
• Provide mentorship to engineers, especially seniors and mid-levels.
• Coordinate technical efforts across teams and stakeholders.
