Job summary

Harmattan AI in Paris is seeking a Senior Signal Processing Engineer to own the algorithmic core of the drone-to-ground radio link, designing waveforms, anti-jamming logic, and SIGINT capabilities. You will work with RF hardware, FPGA, and software teams to deploy robust, real-time solutions for contested environments.

The ideal candidate has 8–12 years in radio/communication system design, a Master’s or PhD in a relevant field, and strong fundamentals in probability, DSP, and information

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, or Applied Mathematics.
• 8–12 years designing radio or communication systems, from algorithm to deployed product.
• Hands-on experience with modem or waveform design: modulation, coding, synchronization, equalization.
• Solid grounding in probability, DSP, and information theory; derive solutions from first principles.
• Practical awareness of RF hardware and FPGA constraints (latency, precision, real‑time processing).
• Exposure to ECCM, SIGINT, or mesh networking is a strong plus.
• Clear communicator across RF, FPGA, and software disciplines.
• Fluency in English required; French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Waveform Design: craft modulation, coding, and equalization for robust, low-latency radio links.
• Anti‑Jamming (ECCM): develop algorithms to maintain links under active jamming.
• Signal Intelligence (SIGINT): detect and characterize emitters in the environment.
• Mesh Networking: optimize protocols so multiple radios share airwaves without collisions.
• AI‑Assisted Processing: apply ML to jamming detection and channel prediction.
• Field Validation: move algorithms from simulation to lab bench to flight tests.
• Radio System Integration: collaborate with RF hardware and FPGA engineers to field radios.
