Job summary

UNIVITY in Toulouse is seeking a Senior Telecommunications Systems Engineer to lead the design of advanced satellite-based communications systems. The role focuses on end-to-end architecture, from user segments to space and ground segments, ensuring interoperability with 5G cores and operator networks.

Responsibilities include system budget development, performance evaluation, and MBSE modelling using Capella/SysML, with experience in MBSE and orbital analysis tools highly valued.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or master’s degree in telecommunications, electronics, or space systems; a Ph.D. is a plus.
• At least 10 years of experience in telecommunications systems engineering, including significant satellite telecom design experience.
• Knowledge of MBSE modelling approaches and orbital analysis tools.
• Experience with 5G stacks and satellite communication concepts is essential.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve end-to-end architecture: user, space, ground segments, 5G core, and operator interconnection.
• Manage NTN-specific effects: Doppler shift, propagation delay, timing advance, satellite mobility.
• Establish end-to-end budgets: link budgets, throughput, latency, availability, QoS.
• Contribute to standardization and verification activities across teams.
