Jobbeschreibung

At UNIVITY we believe that everyone on Earth should have access to internet connectivity and we are on a mission to empower telecom operators to deliver high-performance, affordable, sustainable internet from space to their clients where terrestrial networks are not available.

We successfully launched our first mission in 2025. We are now on our way for our next major milestone: an in-orbit demonstration in 2027, where two complete satellites will be deployed to further validate the system end-to-end. The following step will be to deploy our full constellation of disruptive satellites, enabling telecom operators to provide seamless connectivity worldwide.

Our project is rapidly ramping up, and we are looking to expand our team with passionate individuals who share our vision.

UNIVITY was created in 2022 and has offices in Toulouse and Paris. We offer exceptional learning and career development opportunities, as well as competitive salaries and benefits.

UNIVITY is looking for a 5G Software Architect to join the team in our Toulouse office, reporting to the Chief Technical Officer.

As 5G Software Architect, you will be part of the team designing, developing, integrating validating and deploying our complex satellite-based 5G non-terrestrial telecommunication network. The software integration roadmap relies heavily on a cloud based digital twin of the constellation network.

The Software development roadmap will be aligned with the main project phase, starting with early end to end 5G NTN experimentation, followed by an In Orbit Demonstration of our full-capacity satellites. The final step will be the deployment of the complete constellation system.

Your key responsibilities and tasks:
  • Manage the 5G stack software architecture, with a special focus on the changes required to adapt a terrestrial 5G stack to a non-terrestrial network (NTN) in mmWave frequencies.
  • Support the optimisation of the planned 5G NTN architecture and system trade-offs for a regenerative system.
  • Support the design of the different sub system (on board processor, access station, user terminal) to ensure proper adequation between hardware technology and software architecture
  • Contribute to end-to-end performances analysis
  • Support devops engineers in the implementation process, both on processors or FPGA devices, providing technical expertise on 5G mechanisms
Profile required
Skills and experience
  • Master’s level qualification in Software, telecommunications engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong background on terrestrial 5G standards and mechanisms. Familiarity with 5G NTN systems and standards is a strong advantage.
  • Good background on signal processing and implementation on FPGA
  • Good background on 5G processing requirements, and candidate hardware to efficiently achieve them
  • Familiarity with WAN, SD WAN, SDN network architecture concepts and underpinning technologies
  • Familiarity with Cloud technologies (Virtual machine, docker network, container ...)
  • Familiarity with DevOps teamwork process (Gitlab, Config control, Agile methodology)
  • Must have a good command of C/C++. A good command of other languages such as Java, PhP, and Python is a strong advantage.
  • Experience with SW development environments (Visual Studio)
  • Organised, structured and result focussed.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
