Job summary

NXP Semiconductors is seeking a senior Field Application Engineer to support robotics customers across EMEA. You will lead technical engagements, define edge compute architectures, and drive successful deployments of robotics stacks on NXP MPU/DNPU platforms.

Close collaboration with sales and account teams is essential. You will guide system architects and developers, enabling on-site and remote PoCs, with travel across the region and deep involvement in AI, vision, and sensor-fusion workloads

Qualifications

• 10+ years in embedded systems development or applications support of MPU/SoC-based platforms running embedded Linux.
• Strong embedded Linux experience across the full stack: bootloader, kernel, drivers, device tree, Yocto/build system, and user-space integration.
• Proficient in C/C++ for embedded development; Python or scripting for tooling/automation.
• Hands-on experience with ARM Cortex-A class processors and heterogeneous compute architectures.
• Knowledge of high-speed interfaces (LPDDR, PCIe, USB 3.x, MIPI-CSI/DSI, Ethernet, SDIO/eMMC).
• Experience with PCBs in high-speed interfaces and power integrity; strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to sales teams and customers on edge-compute architectures for robotics platforms.
• Own end-to-end robotics compute architecture for customer engagements (perception, localization, planning, control).
• Guide customers in deploying robotics software stacks on NXP platforms; enable rapid bring-up and deployment.
• Collaborate on the design of companion computers, central compute, vision subsystems, and HMI nodes from silicon to Linux bring-up.
• Enable AI/ML workloads on edge processors and NPUs, from model conversion to on-device inference for perception and navigation.
• Deliver on-site and remote proof-of-concept builds using evaluation kits and reference designs.
