Liberty Specialty Markets in Paris is seeking a Senior Risk Engineer to evaluate casualty risks for Life Sciences and Chemicals, translating findings into actionable underwriting insights that support risk selection.

The role acts as the technical link between the European Casualty Underwriting Team and clients’ subject-matter experts, conducting desk reviews and on-site surveys across continental Europe. Travel will be required, with a hybrid work arrangement from the Paris office.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of Life Science / Chemical Risk
• Extensive experience in Casualty Risk Engineering
• Knowledge of industry legal and regulatory requirements
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
• Ability to analyse and use data for decision making
• Strong attention to detail
• Fluent French and English language competence

Responsabilités

• Plan, organise and conduct desk-based technical risk assessments for the Casualty Underwriting Team.
• Review risk information, identify gaps and develop a clear view of the risk.
• Provide on-site risk engineering surveys for clients when required.
• Produce marketing risk engineering reports for Underwriters, Brokers or Clients; travel within continental Europe.
• Contribute technical input to product development and new business initiatives.
• Maintain credibility and demonstrate technical expertise in risk engineering.
• Keep up-to-date knowledge of Life Science/Chemical risk and related fields.
• Assist in developing risk engineering materials and eLearning assets.
• Monitor progress with risk improvements and deliver technical presentations.

Formation

Bachelor/Master/PhD in Life Sciences or related
