Job summary

Lever, Inc. in France is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join a partner-led fintech product squad as a technical authority on quality. You will shape test strategy, automation, performance, and integration practices, owning the squad’s testing roadmap and architecture.

You will mentor QA engineers, define quality gates, and drive AI-assisted testing workflows across high-scale systems. This role emphasizes leadership without formal management in a fintech setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of QA engineering experience in a software product environment.
• Strong test automation engineering skills with production-quality tests in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Deep experience with API testing including REST, contract testing, integration testing, and JSON schema validation.
• Hands-on experience with performance and load testing and translating results into engineering actions.
• Experience in fintech, payments, or digital financial services is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted QA workflows and LLM-based tooling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Embed fully within an engineering squad as a core technical contributor.
• Define and refine acceptance criteria with Product Owners to reduce ambiguity before implementation.
• Own the squad’s test architecture and strategy across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing.
• Lead performance and load testing, establish baselines, and translate findings into improvements.
• Own the Definition of Done and quality gates for releases to staging or production.
• Design, maintain, and improve automated test suites within CI environments.
• Mentor QA Engineers and raise standards across teams and the broader QA community.
• Represent QA in chapter-wide standards, tooling decisions, onboarding resources, and testing practices.
• Take ownership of strategic QA initiatives such as contract testing or AI-assisted test generation.
• Leverage AI and LLM tooling for test generation, data creation, and regression triage.
