AVENTA seeks a Senior Project Operations Engineer to join the project operations team on the AB15 project. You will support the planning, management and execution of the operational scope of a pipelay installation vessel and its support spread, from readiness through offshore execution and demobilisation.

Based in Paris with a long-term contract, the role requires 6+ years of offshore experience, pipelay expertise, and willingness to travel to Angola.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent required.
• 6+ years of offshore experience including offshore operations.
• Pipelay experience is mandatory.
• Knowledge of logistics, customs and immigration regulations.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Willing to travel to Angola and adapt to offshore assignments.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Responsabilités

• Support the Project Operations Manager in delivering the operational scope of the pipelay vessel.
• Develop the marine logistics and vessel support strategy with the auxiliary fleet.
• Lead vessel mobilisation and readiness strategy, addressing Angola regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning and readiness up to Client acceptance.
• Manage vessel manning, POB definition, audits, HSE and emergency planning.
• Coordinate mobilisation and demobilisation of the spread, including yard activities and subcontracted personnel.
• Mentor and support Project Operations Engineers assigned to the project.
• Interface with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Marine and Client teams.

For one of our clients, a major international EPCI contractor, we are looking for a Senior Project Operations Engineer to join their project operations team on the AB15 project. Reporting to the Project Operations Manager, you will support the planning, management and execution of the operational scope of a strategic pipelay installation vessel and its associated support spread, from readiness through offshore execution and demobilisation.

What you will do

• Support the Project Operations Manager in delivering the operational scope of the pipelay vessel, working independently with limited supervision
• Develop the marine logistics and vessel support strategy, integrating the auxiliary fleet (PSVs, pipe carriers, cargo barges and other support vessels) to maximise offshore productivity
• Lead the vessel mobilisation and readiness strategy, addressing local logistics, customs, immigration and marine regulatory requirements in Angola
• Coordinate and support testing, commissioning and readiness activities for the pipelay vessel and associated installation systems, up to Client acceptance
• Manage vessel manning and POB definition, and follow up chartered vessel audits, HSE and emergency planning
• Coordinate mobilisation and demobilisation of the assigned spread, including yard activities, load-out sequencing and subcontracted personnel
• Mentor and support Project Operations Engineers assigned to the project
• Interface with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Marine and Client teams throughout the project lifecycle

What you bring

• Engineering degree or equivalent
• 6+ years of relevant experience in the offshore industry, including offshore operations
• Pipelay experience is mandatory
• Good knowledge of logistics, customs, immigration and importation/exportation regulations
• Strong ability to synthesise information, with solid communication and organisational skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and work independently
• Willing and able to travel to Angola
• Fluent English, written and spoken

What we offer

A long-term contract assignment within a major EPCI contractor's project operations team on the AB15 project. Based in their Paris office (4 days per week, 1 day remote), with regular missions to Angola as required. Start date: October 2026.
