Job summary

IFS is seeking a Senior Principal Platform Lead to own the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) and drive adoption across NGA and IFS product teams. This hands‑on IC role combines architectural thinking with code delivery to deliver a unified developer experience.

You will set the strategy, define golden paths, and work across multiple teams to ensure the platform is coherent, reliable, and secure at scale. Strong Kubernetes, Go, and React skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in platform, infrastructure, or developer‑tooling engineering.
• 3+ years in a senior/staff IC or technical lead role.
• Owned an IDP or developer portal end‑to‑end (Backstage, Port, Cortex, or equivalent).
• Shipped developer platforms into production at enterprise scale.
• Hands‑on depth: Kubernetes, GitOps, IaC (Terraform / Crossplane), CI/CD, secrets, observability.
• Built golden paths, service templates, and CI/CD standardisation at scale.
• Treat internal developers as customers and drive adoption with metrics.

Responsibilities

• Own the IDP vision, roadmap, and end‑to‑end execution for IFS.
• Own the developer experience vision for the Nexus platform.
• Collaborate with Kairos, Nexus, Auth, Base Tech, and product teams to deliver cohesive experiences.
• Define platform standards that make the right way the easy way.
• Drive measurable adoption: onboarding time, self‑service completion, platform NPS, time‑to‑first‑deployment.
• Integrate authentication and authorization into the IDP self‑service model.
• Partner with NGA product teams and IFS R&D to prioritize fixes.
• Mentor Principal and Senior platform engineers; raise the bar for DX.
