Job summary

IFS is seeking a Senior Principal Platform Lead, Platform DX, an IC who will own the Internal Developer Platform strategy and drive adoption across NGA and product teams. You’ll combine architectural thinking with hands-on delivery, delivering a developer-first platform that engineers actually want to use.

You will need deep Kubernetes, CI/CD, and platform tooling experience, and you will mentor senior engineers while communicating with non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in platform, infrastructure, or developer-tooling engineering.
• Owned an IDP or developer portal end-to-end (Backstage, Port, Cortex, or equivalent).
• Shipped production-grade platform at enterprise scale with strong adoption.
• Able to communicate platform strategy clearly to product leaders and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own the IDP vision, roadmap, and end-to-end execution, including self-service scaffolding and golden paths.
• Define platform standards that make the right way the easy way and promote adoption.
• Drive measurable adoption metrics: onboarding time, self-service completion, and platform NPS.
• Work with NGA product teams and R&D to identify pain points and prioritize fixes.
• Mentor Principal and Senior platform engineers to raise DX quality across teams.
