Bioptimus is building a universal AI foundation model for biology and is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own the AWS foundation, IaC, and self-service paths for engineers and researchers. This remote role prioritizes a platform-first mindset to enable scalable, secure, and economical infrastructure.

You will work with a cloud-first approach (AWS) and collaborate with research to support scale while setting standards and driving observability across the platform.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AWS and hands-on production experience designing and running cloud infrastructure.
• Terraform in production (infrastructure as code).
• Kubernetes and containers expertise, including orchestration.
• Strong CI/CD and developer-experience instincts (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD/Flux).
• Security-engineering capability: access control, secrets, least-privilege in code.
• Strong networking skills: VPC design, segmentation, private connectivity, DNS, load balancing.
• Platform-as-a-product mindset: productize paved roads, ship opinionated defaults.
• Solid software engineering: Python or Go, with good engineering practices.

Responsabilités

• Own the cloud foundation: design, build, and own AWS architecture as code.
• Build the self-service platform to provision and ship with minimal friction and guardrails.
• Own CI/CD and deployment fabric to deploy models and SDKs to cloud/on-prem environments.
• Embed security and networking into the platform as core properties.
• Set architecture standards and differentiate platform vs experiments.
• Make the platform observable and cost-aware with metrics and alerts.
• Support research at scale by enabling self-serve workflows.
