Bioptimus is building the first universal AI foundation model for biology — learning the deep structure of living systems from data at scale. This role focuses on the self‑service data platform, storage architecture, and tooling that let researchers access and process large multimodal datasets safely and independently.

You will work cloud‑first (AWS) with the platform team, supporting scale for research workflows rather than owning research infra execution. Remote work is supported outside Paris.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of production platform or infrastructure experience with ownership.
• Proficiency in Terraform and hands-on with Kubernetes/Helm and containers.
• Data-platform capability: object stores, relational databases, and modern formats.
• Data/workflow orchestration with Dagster, Airflow or Prefect.
• Solid Python software engineering with good practices.
• Security-aware engineering with least-privilege in code.
• Platform-as-a-product mindset to enable self-serve capabilities.

Responsabilités

• Own the data & storage self-service layer and related tooling.
• Build internal platform services to promote self-serve data access.
• Work with object stores (S3), Parquet/Delta/Iceberg, and data workflows.
• Contribute to IaC and CI/CD via Terraform and pipelines.
• Engineer security into the data layer with access controls.
• Decide what becomes platform-grade versus experimental.
