Palmetto Clean Technology is seeking a versatile senior engineer to build and operate containerized backend services and APIs that expose data from multiple systems. You will integrate multi-cloud data sources, enforce governance, and design for machine-first access to data for AI agents and automated callers.

You will own production services, implement CI/CD, and collaborate with internal teams on data apps and visualizations, while supporting ML workflows and data catalogs.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of experience building and operating production backend services or platforms.
• Polyglot engineer with deep Python plus TypeScript and SQL, plus strong shell skills (bash/zsh).
• Proven track record shipping robust, containerized microservices with typed API contracts (GraphQL/REST).
• Cloud infrastructure experience, ideally multi-cloud across heterogeneous data estates.
• Fluency with the modern data stack for data transformations and governance; open-source data tooling familiarity.
• Strong authentication and authorization knowledge with practical access control patterns (FGA, ReBAC, ABAC).
• DevOps/SRE mindset with CI/CD, observability; familiar with ML principles; capable of solutions engineering.
• Experience with data catalogs/meta data platforms and AI-agent interfaces (e.g., MCP).
• Ability to communicate data through apps and visualizations; familiarity with GraphQL, Redis, secrets management, and Kubernetes.

• Maintain metadata, data catalogs, and data lineage for discoverability and trust.
• Own production services: CI/CD, observability, performance, reliability, cost.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams on integrations and data apps.
• Support ML/AI workflows by making features and model outputs discoverable and servable.
