ixolabs.ai is seeking a senior physics-focused research professional to provide final scientific adjudication on competing methods and assumptions. You will compare rival arguments, define decision criteria, and calibrate confidence for open questions.

Remotely engaged, the assignment emphasizes transparency, reproducibility, and rigorous reporting using LaTeX, Python, and Jupyter. The work includes shaping the preferred interpretation with clear uncertainty statements.

Qualifications

• PhD in physics with recognized subject expertise and scholarly impact.
• Current or former associate professor, full/chair professor, PI or group leader with independent research leadership.
• Ongoing relevant research and 3–5 recent representative papers, referenced by DOI or arXiv.
• Experience supervising doctoral researchers or postdocs, or equivalent industry-research leadership.
• Working proficiency with the listed scientific tools; disclose any tool gaps rather than implying experience you do not have.
• The research area may concern material optics or quantum information, AMO/quantum optics, astrophysics and cosmology, gravitational theory, condensed matter, statistical or biological physics, or mathematical/high-energy physics.

This IXO role provides the final scientific reasoning when credible solutions disagree. The aim is a defensible comparison of methods and assumptions, including a clear statement when the field itself does not supply a settled answer.

Work you will do

Deliverables

A reasoned adjudication that records the preferred interpretation, its scope, contrary evidence and unresolved scientific uncertainty.

Location and schedule

Remote. Subject assignment depends on demonstrated subfield expertise, including theoretical, condensed-matter, AMO, quantum-information or other stated physics areas. Scope and timing are agreed before work; no fixed duration or guaranteed weekly hours are stated.

Pay and working terms

$85 $170/hr USD. IXO will agree the assignment scope, hourly rate, schedule and acceptance criteria before work begins.
