ixolabs.ai is seeking a remote expert to advance numerical analysis at the interface of condensed matter and quantum dynamics. You will implement and verify exact-diagonalization approaches that leverage translation and reflection symmetry, building precise block-diagonal subspaces for the PXP-like models.

The role requires a PhD-level background and proven experience with QuSpin, symmetry techniques, and large Hilbert spaces (L ≥ 26).

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent practical background in condensed matter or quantum information.
• Demonstrated exact-diagonalization expertise using symmetry methods for large systems.
• Ability to block-diagonalize Hamiltonians and work with large Hilbert-space sectors.
• Research-level understanding of quantum many-body scars, Rydberg blockade and Z2-state overlap analysis.
• Experience executing QuSpin calculations at system sizes L ≥ 26.

This IXO track tests research reasoning at the interface of numerical methods and quantum dynamics. The work centers on the PXP model, Rydberg blockade and many-body scars, where a convincing calculation must use symmetry correctly and support a meaningful interpretation.

Work you will do

• Build or inspect exact-diagonalization implementations that exploit translation and reflection symmetry.
• Construct and verify block-diagonal subspaces, checking both computational efficiency and faithful representation of the intended Hamiltonian.
• Analyze overlaps with Z2 states and explain what the results imply about constrained quantum dynamics.
• Prepare solutions, audits or adjudications with sufficient methodological detail for another specialist to assess the result.

Preferred background

• PhD or equivalent practical background in condensed matter, quantum information or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated exact-diagonalization expertise, including QuSpin and symmetry methods for large systems.
• Ability to block-diagonalize Hamiltonians and work with large Hilbert-space sectors.
• Research-level understanding of quantum many-body scars, Rydberg blockade and Z2-state overlap analysis.
• Experience executing QuSpin calculations at system sizes L ≥ 26.

Deliverables

A reproducible numerical analysis or rigorous review that documents sector choices, computational checks and the physical interpretation.

Location and schedule

Remote; solver, auditor or adjudicator duties depend on demonstrated methods expertise and seniority. Scope, hours and timing are agreed before work; there is no specified a fixed weekly commitment or duration.

Pay and working terms

$105 $180/hr USD. IXO will agree the assignment scope, hourly rate, schedule and acceptance criteria before work begins.
