Shotgun! is building a resilient, scalable payment platform within its Money & Compliance Squad. As a Software Engineer, you will dive deep into the payment stack, integrating PSPs, handling ledgers, payouts, and tax logic for a global marketplace.

You will design event-driven, auditable money flows across multiple countries, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with legal, finance, and other engineering squads to keep the platform robust under burst traffic.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with asynchronous, event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of money flows, ledgers, splits, refunds, and VAT.
• Experience with international money, compliance, and local regulations.
• Familiarity with backend tech stack (Node.js, Typescript, PostgreSQL, Redis).

Responsabilités

• Design, build, and operate the core payment platform (PSP integrations, ledgering, retries, reconciliation).
• Ensure payment path resilience during peak traffic and on-sale moments.
• Architect and strengthen event-driven systems with idempotency and replays.
• Model complex money flows across countries and currencies.
• Bring compliance work into product-owned systems with audit trails.
• Improve code structure, testability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with legal, finance, ops, and other squads on architecture and compliance.
