AVENTA is seeking an experienced Naval Engineer for a Paris-based team on a large FPSO project. You will work with offshore and naval disciplines, focusing on the permanent mooring system from design through offshore installation, including offshore missions.

The role requires hands-on mooring experience, English fluency, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines. Start date is January 2027, with a long-term contract in France. Travel offshore may be required.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in naval architecture, offshore or mechanical engineering, with a design office background.
  • Solid experience as a Naval Engineer on Oil & Gas projects, ideally on FPSO or floating units.
  • Hands-on experience with permanent mooring systems (anchors, chains, lines, fairleads, chain stoppers) from design through to offshore installation.
  • Valid BOSIET with CA EBS (OPITO certified) and a valid MFC (OGUK certified), both required. Eligible to work in France.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken; autonomy and ability to work across disciplines.

  • Write lessons learned reports for the project
  • Help develop the department's technical skills
  • Travel offshore to support operations when needed

For one of our clients, a major international EPCI contractor, we are looking for an experienced Naval Engineer to join their naval engineering team in their Paris office on a large FPSO project in Indonesia. You will work independently under the project lead and in close contact with the other engineering disciplines. Your focus will be the permanent mooring system, from design and fabrication through to integration and offshore installation. The role includes offshore missions.

What you bring

  • Experience writing technical requisitions and evaluating vendor bids
  • Valid BOSIET with CA EBS (OPITO certified) and a valid MFC (OGUK certified), both required
  • Eligible to work in France
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken
  • Autonomy, rigour and ease working across disciplines
What we offer
