AVENTA is seeking an experienced Naval Engineer for a Paris-based team on a large FPSO project. You will work with offshore and naval disciplines, focusing on the permanent mooring system from design through offshore installation, including offshore missions.

The role requires hands-on mooring experience, English fluency, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines. Start date is January 2027, with a long-term contract in France. Travel offshore may be required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in naval architecture, offshore or mechanical engineering, with a design office background.
• Solid experience as a Naval Engineer on Oil & Gas projects, ideally on FPSO or floating units.
• Hands-on experience with permanent mooring systems (anchors, chains, lines, fairleads, chain stoppers) from design through to offshore installation.
• Valid BOSIET with CA EBS (OPITO certified) and a valid MFC (OGUK certified), both required. Eligible to work in France.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken; autonomy and ability to work across disciplines.

Responsabilités

• Prepare naval deliverables (procedures, calculation notes, technical reports) for the design and fabrication of permanent mooring equipment
• Support the integration of the mooring system on the FPSO and its offshore installation
• Prepare the technical documents needed for procurement: requisitions, technical bid evaluations and inputs to purchase orders
• Work with the other disciplines and with vendors and fabrication yards to deliver the mooring scope
• Write lessons learned reports for the project
• Help develop the department's technical skills
• Travel offshore to support operations when needed
