Job summary

Doctolib is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join the ML Engineering team in Patient Solutions. You will lead AI/ML system development to improve access to quality care across Europe, building retrieval pipelines, LLM/VLM apps, and agentic AI integrations.

You will design experiments, define metrics, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to deploy robust, scalable solutions in production while maintaining high observability and reliability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or AI Engineering.
• Strong experience in Information Retrieval and modern retrieval stacks: hybrid search, embeddings, vector databases, multi-stage retrieval and re-ranking pipelines.
• Proficient in LLM and VLM application development: fine-tuning, MoE architectures, knowledge distillation, and prompt engineering.
• Hands-on experience building and orchestrating agentic AI systems (e.g., using ADK).
• Strong scientific rigor: designing metrics aligned with product goals and running controlled experiments.
• Experience operating large-scale applications in production with monitoring, reliability and observability; fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement ML/AI solutions aligned with patient product goals, including search, retrieval and personalized care pathways.
• Build and maintain large-scale retrieval pipelines with hybrid search and multi-stage re-ranking.
• Develop, fine-tune, and evaluate LLM and VLM models using distillation, MoE, prompt engineering.
• Build and orchestrate agentic AI systems and MCP-based integrations.
• Define metrics, run experiments, and communicate results to product and engineering teams.
• Deploy production solutions in collaboration with the ML platform team with reliability and observability.
