Elliott Davis is seeking an accomplished technology leader to serve as a Fractional CIO for client engagements. You will work with CEOs and boards to align technology with business goals, develop roadmaps, oversee major initiatives, and guide risk and cybersecurity programs while delivering executive-level guidance and trusted advice.

Qualifications

  • Fifteen (15)+ years of progressive information technology experience.
  • Experience in senior IT leadership roles (IT Manager, IT Director, CTO, CIO, or equivalent).
  • Proven success leading IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, application delivery, vendor management, and strategic technology initiatives.
  • Experience developing technology roadmaps, budgets, governance programs, and executive-level reporting.
  • Prior consulting, advisory, or client-facing experience preferred.
  • Experience leading ERP, cloud, cybersecurity, digital transformation, or business systems initiatives.
  • Ability to engage effectively with CEOs, CFOs, Boards of Directors, and executive leadership teams.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and commit to exemplary customer service.
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment with peer review.
  • Ability to work after hours as requested by client engagements.

Responsabilités

  • Serve as the primary technology advisor to executives, boards and internal IT leadership, aligning technology strategy with business goals.
  • Deliver Fractional CIO services by providing executive-level leadership, governance, and strategic direction for client technology organizations.
  • Assess client technology environments and develop practical roadmaps that improve operational efficiency, cybersecurity, scalability, and business performance.
  • Lead technology strategy, budgeting, governance, and investment planning initiatives to help clients maximize the value of their technology investments.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to client IT teams, leveraging firsthand experience.
  • Facilitate executive and board-level discussions, translating complex technical concepts into actionable business recommendations and risk-based decisions.
  • Oversee cybersecurity, risk management, business continuity, regulatory compliance, and technology resilience programs.
  • Provide executive oversight for major technology initiatives, including cloud transformations, ERP implementations, infrastructure modernization, software selection projects, and systems integrations.
  • Evaluate, select, and manage technology vendors, contracts, licensing agreements, and strategic partnerships to optimize cost and performance.
  • Establish and improve IT governance, operational processes, performance metrics, and service delivery frameworks.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to leverage automation, AI, analytics, and emerging technologies to support business growth and innovation.
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with client stakeholders while mentoring IT managers and emerging technology leaders.

This position serves as a trusted executive advisor to client organizations, providing strategic technology leadership, operational guidance, and business-focused consulting to help clients align technology with organizational goals. Working closely with executives, boards, and internal IT teams, this role develops technology roadmaps, oversees major initiatives, manages risk, and drives digital transformation efforts that improve performance and enable growth. The ideal candidate has firsthand experience leading IT organizations and has successfully served in IT leadership positions. This individual brings the practical perspective that comes from having "sat in the seat," combining real-world operational experience with the ability to provide strategic guidance, executive-level leadership, and trusted advice to client organizations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success leading IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, application delivery, vendor management, and/or strategic technology initiatives
  • Experience developing technology roadmaps, technology budgets, governance programs, and executive-level reporting
  • Prior consulting, advisory, or client-facing experience preferred
  • Experience leading ERP, cloud, cybersecurity, digital transformation, or business systems initiatives
  • Ability to engage effectively with CEOs, CFOs, Boards of Directors, and executive leadership teams
  • The ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and be committed to providing exemplary customer service
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills
  • Comfortable working in a team environment and having your work be subject to a peer review process
  • The ability to work after hours as requested by client engagements

Qualifications
