Farfetch is seeking an experienced indirect tax professional to join the Tax Team and support VAT compliance for the group across EU, UK, and other regions. You will collaborate with consultants, tax authorities, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate filings.

The role requires 5 years in indirect tax compliance, a finance/accounting degree, and strong Excel + tax software experience. The position offers a hybrid working pattern in Porto with flexible benefits.

The Role

An exciting opportunity to join the Tax Team of a dynamic, fast-growing, technology business, supporting the expansion of the group and improving assurance on indirect tax, mainly VAT, applicable to the Group. Reporting to the ITX/VAT Compliance Manager, you will have a mixed role between EU and UK VAT compliance and the rest of the world\'s indirect tax compliance obligations related to the companies of the Farfetch Group. You will be responsible for handling indirect tax compliance matters, supporting the team in the communication with Local Tax Authorities on audits, dealing with external compliance providers, and, as needed, providing technical support in compliance procedures and improvements to our internal teams.

• Review indirect tax returns and other declarative obligations prepared by our consultants
• Work to ensure all indirect tax returns, payments, reconciliations, assessments, notices and audits are concluded on time
• Provide day-to-day support to Farfetch on indirect tax compliance matters
• Communicate with tax authorities in tax audits and requests
• Maintain good working knowledge of indirect tax compliance legislation and procedures
• Degree in finance or accounting
• 5 years of experience in working in indirect tax compliance and being committed to building a career in tax
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Excellent teamwork player and able to interact with different departments
• Analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Dynamic and proactive with a high sense of responsibility and autonomy
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office (mainly Excel) and technology-friendly as this role will require close contact with tax software programs (experience in Microsoft Dynamics as user is a plus)
