Senior Group Legal Counsel, International M&A

Job summary

CMA CGM is seeking a senior corporate lawyer with a strong focus on M&A to operate across France and internationally. You will oversee subsidiaries, lead cross-border restructurings and complex equity transactions, and support group-wide growth and decarbonization initiatives.

You will work with finance, tax and operations teams in a dynamic corporate environment, ensuring compliance and strategic alignment across the CMA CGM group.

Qualifications

• Qualified French lawyer (CAPA) or Master’s in corporate law.
• 8+ years in corporate law / M&A.
• Experience with international firms and large groups.
• Fluent in French and English; Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal oversight of French and foreign subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with obligations.
• Design and lead intra-group reorganization and legal structuring transactions.
• Analyze and secure equity transactions, and other top-of-the-balance-sheet operations.
• Support external growth, partnerships and development transactions with M&A teams.
• Advise subsidiaries on governance structuring and delegation of powers.
• Contribute to decarbonization projects and energy transition investments.
