Senior Global Legal Counsel — Litigation & Criminal Risk

Job summary

CMA CGM Group in Marseille seeks a Group Legal Counsel Expert - Litigation & Criminal Risk to lead major litigation and manage criminal risk for the Group worldwide. You will coordinate with external counsel, shape strategy and report to the Legal Department and Executive Management.

The role requires strong expertise in business criminal law, public law and criminal procedure, plus fluent French and English.

Qualifications

• Master 2 in law, ideally in business criminal law, business litigation or public business law.
• Qualified lawyer (French bar admission / CAPA) with significant experience in a criminal law firm or in business litigation.
• Minimum 5 to 10 years' professional experience in relevant roles (law firm, litigation dept, regulatory authority, or a company with high exposure).
• Proven command of French criminal procedure and proceedings.
• Experience in the media, audiovisual or communications sector is a plus.
• In-depth expertise in business criminal law, public criminal law and criminal procedure.
• Sound knowledge of anti-corruption frameworks and compliance mechanisms.
• Ability to steer complex litigation in coordination with external counsel.
• Strong contract law skills for reviewing sensitive partnership agreements.
• Fluent professional French and English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee criminal, civil, administrative and commercial proceedings affecting the Group.
• Manage portfolio of pre-litigation and litigation cases; report to Legal Dept and Executive Management.
• Define litigation strategy based on financial, legal and reputational stakes.
• Coordinate Group responses to judicial requisitions with external counsel.
• Contribute to crisis management with Communications for media coverage.
