Harmattan AI in Île-de-France is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to own the embedded software stack across compute modules, delivering a secure Linux platform from bare board to booting system.

You will lead bring-up on new hardware, develop drivers for I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, PCIe, and MIPI, and collaborate with hardware and software teams. A strong C/C++, Python skillset and Yocto/OpenEmbedded experience are essential.

Qualifications

• MSc in engineering; PhD is a plus, hands-on bring-up matters more than the degree.
• 5+ years of embedded software experience with BSPs managed through lifecycle as hardware evolves.
• Strong knowledge of embedded Linux build systems (Yocto/OpenEmbedded) across custom layers and packages.
• Kernel space driver development for ARM targets with real peripherals (I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, PCIe, MIPI) and device tree work.

Responsabilités

• BSP and reference images: build/maintain BSP layer, device trees and reference images.
• Boot chain and secure boot: port bootloader, signed boot, verified rootfs, and A/B updates.
• Drivers: develop and validate Linux drivers across I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, PCIe, and MIPI.
• Board support on MCU targets: provide startup, clock, and peripheral support for boards.
• Board bring up and hardware validation: lead software bring up on new hardware and debug issues.
• Verification and documentation: define test plans, automate boot/peripheral tests, document milestones.
• Cross-functional collaboration: work with hardware, systems, and embedded software teams.
• Mentorship: mentor junior embedded engineers depending on seniority.
