Job summary

Front is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to bridge design and engineering, turning design-system concepts into living production components. You will own, evolve, and document the design system across Figma, Storybook, and production code, ensuring high fidelity between design and implementation.

You will collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to define complex workflows, enterprise-grade experiences, and accessibility-first patterns.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience designing and building production frontend experiences.
• Strong frontend engineering skills with modern web technologies and component-based architecture.
• High UI/UX craft and strong product taste for usable, accessible interfaces.
• Experience building or maintaining component libraries and design-system documentation.
• Strong accessibility fundamentals including semantic HTML and ARIA patterns.
• Excellent communication to explain design-system decisions to diverse audiences.
• A portfolio showing shipped design-engineering impact (UI, components, Storybook).

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Front's design system across Figma, Storybook, and production code.
• Build, refactor, and maintain reusable, accessible UI components for core surfaces.
• Reduce design/code drift across existing libraries and patterns.
• Establish patterns and guardrails to improve consistency and maintainability.
• Prototype new interactions and reference implementations in code.
• Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to define great workflows.
• Use AI tools to accelerate prototyping and production changes while maintaining judgment.
