Job summary

Modash is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Data Search team. You will own end-to-end search systems across embeddings, retrieval, ranking, and low-latency serving, collaborating with Data Core, Data Insights, product teams, customers, and leadership.

You’ll move ideas from experiment to production, evaluate models and technologies, and ship new search capabilities that improve discovery for 400M+ creator profiles.

Qualifications

• Built large-scale data or backend products with performance and cost sensitivity.
• Shipped products from concept to production, owning architecture and release.
• Designed distributed systems with throughput, failure modes, and data flow in mind.
• Built LLM-powered or agentic features in production, balancing capability vs latency and cost.
• Worked autonomously on ambiguous problems and turned context into forward motion.
• Communicated technical tradeoffs clearly across engineers and non-engineers.
• Thrives in a fast-moving product environment with iterative delivery.

Responsibilities

• Improve creator search by enhancing retrieval, ranking, and relevance.
• Build multimodal embeddings pipelines across large creator content and test impact on quality and cost.
• Collaborate with Data Insights to define datapoints and expose them in Search for customers.
• Test reranking models on real queries and measure production readiness.
• Review production metrics and drive end-to-end improvements across data, model, and query logic.
