European Payments Initiative is building Wero, a pan-European digital wallet that makes payments clearer and more secure. You will join the Data & Analytics team to design and maintain reliable batch and near-real-time pipelines for payments, settlement and analytics.

Collaborating with analytics, backend, fraud, finance and platform teams, you will implement data contracts, governance, privacy-by-design and scalable lakehouse solutions using SQL, Python, Databricks and dbt.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering, backend data systems or related role.
• Strong SQL and Python for production pipelines.
• Production experience with Databricks or lakehouse platforms, including governance and Delta Lake design.
• Experience with orchestration, CI/CD and deployment automation.
• Strong data governance and privacy-by-design knowledge in fintech or regulated sectors.
• Fluent English and ability to communicate asynchronously in a distributed team.

Responsabilités

• Design, build and maintain reliable batch and near-real-time pipelines for payments, settlement and analytics.
• Ingest and model data from operational systems into a lakehouse.
• Define and enforce data contracts, schemas, ownership and quality SLAs.
• Implement orchestration, scheduling, retries, monitoring and incident response for production-grade workflows.
• Apply governance and privacy-by-design principles in line with GDPR and PSD2.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, backend, fraud, finance and platform teams to document key decisions.
