Job summary

Odaseva, Paris-based, seeks a senior Data Engineer to design, build and optimize scalable data pipelines for a SaaS platform. You’ll work with Python/SQL, Spark, and lakehouse architectures (Iceberg/Delta) while collaborating with Databricks, Snowflake, and AWS.

You’ll join a global R&D team, contribute to AI use cases, ensure data security and governance, and partner with product teams. Hybrid in Paris (3 days in office, 2 days remote). Full-time permanent.

Qualifications

• Equivalent engineering degree or Master's in CS/DS/Applied Math.
• 7–12 years of experience in data engineering or backend data platforms.
• Strong Python and SQL; Spark and ELT/orchestration with dbt/Airflow.
• Hands-on production experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake.
• Experience with AWS and lakehouse formats like Iceberg or Delta Lake.
• Knowledge of data security, governance and cost management.
• Fluent in English and French and collaborative communication.

Responsibilities

• Data pipeline development: design, build and maintain ingestion/processing pipelines at scale using Python/SQL and Spark.
• Databricks & Snowflake engineering: implement/workflows on Databricks and Snowflake and cloud solutions.
• Platform optimization: improve performance, reliability, and cost on AWS with observability and IaC.
• Secure data management: apply governance and compliance across storage, compute and sharing layers.
• AI use case enablement: partner with Product/R&D to prep data for AI/ML use cases.
• Data sharing & integration: enable secure data access via connectors, APIs and lakehouse sharing.
