JobTailor is seeking an experienced ML/AI engineer to own end-to-end AI features for our products in Paris. You will lead applied AI research, turning it into shippable capabilities and optimizing evaluation harnesses to ensure models remain reliable.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years of production ML/AI experience, strong LLM tuning skills, and a track record of delivering cost- and latency-aware AI systems.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of ML/AI engineering experience with production models and features.
• Strong expertise in LLM fine-tuning, RAG, embeddings, and evaluation methods.
• Production-ready AI systems optimization for cost, latency, and quality.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and operational mindset.
• Proficient in Python; comfortable with a TypeScript codebase.
• Experience with small language models and on-prem deployment is a plus.

Overview

• Own AI research and end-to-end features
• Lead applied AI research and turn it into features shipped across our products
• Build evaluation harnesses (golden sets, regression tests) so AI features don't silently degrade
• Build the AI behind our usage analytics and the AI-driven strategic recommendations we provide to customers

Requirements

• 6+ years of ML/AI engineering experience, with a track record of delivering models and AI features in production
• Strong expertise in LLM fine-tuning, RAG, embeddings, and evaluation (golden sets, LLM-as-judge, regression testing)
• Experience optimizing AI systems for cost, latency, and quality in production
• Strong software engineering fundamentals — you deliver and operate, not just prototype
• Comfortable with Python and able to work on a TypeScript production codebase
• Experience with small language models (SLMs) and deploying models to devices/on-prem is a strong plus
