Job description

Join the EPEX SPOT Team: Innovate, Collaborate, Thrive

Job Summary: As a Scrum Master, you enable Agile teams to deliver high-quality products efficiently and consistently for the Website, Webshop, and REMIT product teams. Acting as a servant leader, you support both the Scrum Team and the broader organization in achieving optimal performance.

  • Enhancing delivery flow and predictability
  • Reducing cross-team dependencies and bottlenecks
  • Driving continuous improvement in a complex, multi-product environment

You develop a strong understanding of the broader product ecosystem to identify constraints, foster collaboration, and improve delivery efficiency—while remaining independent of product decision-making.

Your scope will be:

  • Website: Customer journeys, UX, and digital experience
  • Webshop: Commercial flows, transactions, and revenue-generating features
  • REMIT: Cross-team coordination and data/compliance-related initiatives

Key Responsibilities:

1.Optimize Delivery Flow & Team Performance

Drive continuous improvement from Scrum ceremonies to delivery outcomes by:

  • Improving lead time, throughput, and sprint predictability
  • Identifying and challenging bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and overcommitment patterns

2.Enable Effective Agile & DevOps Practices

Promote and support best practices, including:

  • CI/CD adoption and release standardization
  • Test automation and quality improvement
  • Guide teams toward:
  • End-to-end ownership (“build & run”)
  • Increased autonomy and accountability
  • Proactively identify dependencies across teams and products
  • Facilitate alignment between teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders
  • Monitor macro, market, and technology trends, competitive landscapes, and regulatory developments to anticipate opportunities and risks.

4.Support Product-Oriented Delivery

Collaborate closely with Product Owners to:

  • Ensure backlog clarity and readiness
  • Maintain a strong focus on delivering business value

When needed, represent the Product Owner or Product Team in discussions related to projects, initiatives, or issue resolution.

Develop a solid understanding of product-specific challenges:

  • UX/UI complexity (Website)
  • Transaction flows (Webshop)
  • Regulatory and data constraints (REMIT)

5.Remove Organizational Impediments

Act beyond team-level support to:

  • Address cross-team and structural impediments
  • Slow decision-making processes
  • Misaligned priorities across teams

Define, track, and leverage key performance indicators such as:

  • Delivery predictability
  • Cycle time
  • Deployment frequency

Use retrospectives as powerful tools for continuous improvement and measure success through:

  • Improved sprint predictability (aligned with Product Owner targets)
  • Reduced lead time
  • Fewer cross-team blockers
  • Increased deployment frequency
  • Greater team autonomy (qualitative and measurable)
