Job summary

Eutelsat seeks a Systems Engineer to design and coordinate interfaces for future satellite communication systems around IRIS². The role spans end-to-end interfaces among user, space, ground, network, service and operations domains.

You will translate functional architecture into verifiable interface requirements and drive convergence on interface patterns in collaboration with suppliers and internal SMEs to ensure a coherent end-to-end service.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in end-to-end architecture or systems engineering.
• Master’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Experience with large multi-supplier systems and interfaces.
• Knowledge of 3GPP, O-RAN, CCSDS or TMF standards.
• Experience leading technical discussions with external suppliers.
• Fluent English, written to specification standard.
• Experience on space/telecom/defence programmes with SRR/PDR/CDR.
• Knowledge of IP networking and higher-layer protocols.
• Understanding of satellite constellation missions and fleet management.
• Ground segment or NTN experience.
• Transport network, 5G Core or RAN experience.
• Data modelling and schema design.
• Security architectures and trust boundaries.
• Familiarity with model-based systems engineering and requirements-management tools.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain the interface register and interface matrix for the end-to-end system.
• Identify applicable standards and reference architectures for each interface.
• Translate functional chains, system requirements into clear, traceable interface requirements.
• Define interface performance, timing, availability and security per system design.
• Establish and maintain a unified system data model and allocation to requirements.
• Chair interface working groups and drive technical agreement among owners.
