Körber Supply Chain in France is seeking a Sales Engineer to translate customer requirements into competitive, technically sound and commercially viable solutions.

You will work with customers, Sales, Engineering and suppliers to analyze requirements, develop proposals, and optimise standard solutions while assessing customisations.

This role offers hands-on design support, BOM reviews, and documentation to ensure a smooth quotation and order handover.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Automation, or equivalent.
• 2–3 years in a similar technical role in material handling or automation.
• Experience in application engineering, proposal engineering or technical sales support.
• Ability to review layouts, BOMs and engineering documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; translate customer needs into solutions.
• Good commercial awareness and customer-focused mindset.
• Proficient in MS Office; experience with CAD software.

• Analyse customer requirements, RFQs, layouts and specs against portfolio.
• Design competitive technical-commercial proposals and assess cost impact of changes.
• Identify risks, inconsistencies, and optimisation opportunities.
• Review BOMs and equipment lists to spot gaps and risks.
• Coordinate technical clarifications with customers, sales, engineering and suppliers.
• Prepare documentation and support quotation development and handover.

We are looking for a Sales Engineeryou will play a key role in translating customer requirements into competitive, technically sound and commercially viable solutions.

You will work closely with customers, Sales, Engineering and suppliers to analyse requirements, develop solution concepts and prepare technical-commercial proposals, maximising the use of standard solutions while identifying and assessing the impact of required customisations.

Your role in our team

• You will analyse customer requirements, RFQs, layouts and technical specifications, assessing the suitability of proposed concepts against the Product Solutions portfolio.
• You will develop competitive technical-commercial proposals by designing optimised equipment configurations, maximising the use of standard solutions and assessing the cost impact of customisations.
• You will identify technical inconsistencies, risks and opportunities for optimisation, proposing modifications that improve performance, manufacturability, cost-efficiency and maintainability.
• You will define technical assumptions, exclusions and scope boundaries, reviewing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and equipment lists to identify gaps, inconsistencies and potential risks.
• You will coordinate technical clarifications with customers, Sales teams, Engineering teams and suppliers, ensuring alignment throughout the quotation process.
• You will prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, supporting the development of quotations and ensuring clear communication of the proposed solution.
• You will support project handover activities following order intake, ensuring that relevant technical information and assumptions are clearly transferred to the project teams.
• You will contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards, costing tools, templates and technical documentation, sharing best practices and supporting more efficient solution development.

Your profile

• You have a Degree in Mechanical, Electrotechnical, Industrial, Mechatronics, Automation, Logistics Engineering, or a comparable technical background.
• You bring 2–3 years of experience in a similar technical role, ideally within material handling, conveyor systems, automation, industrial machinery or related industries.
• You have experience in application engineering, proposal engineering, technical sales support or solution design.
• You are comfortable reviewing technical layouts, equipment specifications, BOMs and engineering documentation.
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical information and translate customer requirements into practical solutions.
• You demonstrate sound technical judgement, attention to detail and strong commercial awareness, always keeping the customer and business requirements in focus.
• You have good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint, as well as experience with AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
• You are familiar with CRM tools such as Salesforce or Dynamics; knowledge of SAP or another ERP system is an advantage.
• You have professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken, and demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills.
