Job summary

Maki seeks an experienced Legal Counsel to shape and build its legal function across commercial contracts, privacy, product, regulatory matters, and company strategy. You will work with Sales, Leadership, Security, Product, and Engineering to turn legal obligations into practical decisions across the company.

You will develop standard agreements, templates, and processes to enable fast, compliant growth while monitoring AI, privacy, and data protection developments that affect product strategy

Qualifications

• Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Practical understanding of GDPR, data protection, and tech AI regulatory environments.
• Ability to explain legal issues clearly to non-lawyers.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial contracting with customers, MSAs, DPAs, and related docs.
• Build scalable legal operations: templates, clause libraries, workflows, and playbooks.
• Advise on product, privacy, and regulatory matters affecting strategy and deployment.
