Grünenthal Group in Paris seeks an experienced scientist to lead the design and optimisation of RNA therapeutics, with a focus on siRNA. You will integrate RNA biology with oligonucleotide chemistry to enable gene knockdown and regulatory approaches, guiding design decisions with multi-omics data and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

The role requires a PhD and 10+ years in industry, including 5+ years in antisense/siRNA design, strong Python/R skills, and a track record of moving candidates

Qualifications

• PhD in RNA biology, molecular biology, computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of industry experience, including at least 5 years in therapeutic antisense or siRNA design and optimisation.
• Strong computational skills; experience developing scripts or workflows (e.g. Python or R).
• Experience designing siRNA across CNS and systemic delivery contexts, including optimisation of sequence and chemistry for robust in vivo activity.
• Proven track record contributing to or leading programs that progressed molecules to candidate stage, with involvement in clinical development.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design and computational optimisation of RNA therapeutics, particularly siRNA.
• Define and prioritise target sites and design strategies by integrating sequence features, RNA accessibility, transcript structure, cross-species alignment, and emerging data.
• Drive iterative design–test–learn cycles by analysing and integrating datasets to inform decisions.
• Develop and apply computational tools/workflows (e.g. Python or R) for scalable oligonucleotide design and data integration.
• Partner with chemists and delivery scientists to optimise sequence, modifications, and delivery to maximise potency and tissue activity.
• Lead discovery programs advancing RNA therapeutic candidates toward profiling and clinical development.
