Job summary

Inria, the French national research institute for the digital sciences, invites applications for a Research Engineer to advance distributed collaborative systems. You will design and implement research prototypes, contribute to open-source components, and build demonstrators in a cross-disciplinary environment with PhD students, postdocs, and engineers.

The role emphasizes long-term collaboration, secure distributed architectures, and interoperability.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience developing research prototypes and contributing to open-source projects is advantageous.
• Strong programming and software engineering skills, with interest in distributed systems, security, and interoperability.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, integrate, and evaluate research prototypes of distributed collaborative applications.
• Develop and integrate demonstrators illustrating long-term collaboration across organizational boundaries.
• Develop and maintain the PILOT technical repository with documentation and deployment instructions.
• Evaluate solutions and contribute to technical validation with CSCW and HCI researchers.
• Collaborate with PILOT partners and disseminate technical results and software artifacts.
