Job summary

Inria Centre of the University of Lorraine in Nancy seeks a research engineer to join the LORELEY project team. The role focuses on implementing and evaluating a decentralised public key infrastructure with zero-knowledge techniques and privacy protections.

You will work at the interface of academic research and software development, collaborating with researchers and industry partners in an open-source setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in software development using C++, Rust, Go or Python.
• Strong knowledge of software design, testing and debugging.
• Interest in applied cryptography, cybersecurity, distributed systems and privacy.
• Ability to read scientific literature in English.
• Master's degree in computer science or applied mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Develop an end-to-end proof-of-concept for the distributed system.
• Integrate cryptographic primitives (accumulators, commitments, signatures, SNARKs, hash functions).
• Integrate existing cryptographic libraries and compose required constructions.
• Conduct experiments to evaluate performance, resource use and scalability.
• Contribute to documentation and open-source publication of the work.
