Job summary

European Payments Initiative (EPI) is building Wero, a European digital wallet, and offers a risk and internal control role to strengthen the three lines of defence within a fast-growing payments company. You will monitor controls, shape risk reporting, and collaborate with Compliance, BC, and Risk & Compliance.

The position embraces a remote-first culture with cross-border collaboration across Europe and exposure to COSO-based governance.

Qualifications

2–5 years of professional experience in Risk and Internal Control.
Proficient in English.
Thrive in a remote-first, multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

Monitor level 1 controls, collect results, support managers in execution and follow-up.
Design, plan and perform level 2 controls using a risk-driven approach.
Contribute to the continuous identification, assessment and documentation of risks, maintaining the risk register and KRI.
Monitor risk appetite thresholds and ensure mitigation actions are raised when required.
Contribute to risk reporting presented to EPI Committees and Supervisory Boards.
Monitor third-party service provider risk assessments and oversight of external risks.
Promote risk and internal control awareness across the organisation.
Collaborate with stakeholders across the three lines of defense.
