Job summary

European Payments Initiative (EPI) seeks a senior governance and regulatory affairs professional to shape the rules and governance of a brand-new European payment scheme. You will translate market and regulatory requirements into clear documentation and work with member banks and stakeholders across Europe.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in payments, scheme management or regulatory affairs.
• Degree in Business, Economics, Finance or Law preferred.
• Fluent in English; other European languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create, review and maintain EPI’s operating rules and regulations by translating market, product and regulatory requirements into clear and effective scheme documentation.
• Collaborate with EPI teams, member banks and stakeholders to ensure the scheme framework evolves alongside business and regulatory needs.
• Manage the onboarding process of new PSP applicants for EPI membership, ensuring completeness, consistency and compliance of submissions.
• Assess applicant documentation from risk, financial stability and AML perspectives, identifying potential concerns and areas requiring clarification.
• Prepare recommendations for the Membership Management Committee, highlighting risks, observations and onboarding decisions.
• Act as a key point of contact for applicant institutions throughout the membership assessment process.
• Ensure accurate management, storage and governance of membership and scheme-related documentation.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance frameworks supporting EPI’s growth and expansion.
