Job summary

Filigran seeks a Data Protection Officer & Compliance Officer to design and implement a scalable privacy and compliance program across products, operations and international footprint. You will lead privacy governance, data transfers and AI governance while collaborating with the GC, CEO and CISO.

The role requires deep GDPR/UK GDPR expertise, experience with EU AI Act and the ability to run multiple regulatory programmes.

Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years’ experience as a DPO, data privacy lead or compliance officer, ideally in a fast-growing technology or SaaS company.
• Expert knowledge of data protection law and practice; DPO certification or IAPP qualification preferred.
• Experience with EU AI Act implementation.
• Deep knowledge of GDPR and UK GDPR incl. DPIAs, breach management and data transfers.

Responsibilities

• Act as Filigran’s DPO and primary contact for supervisory authorities and data subjects.
• Design and operate Filigran’s privacy program including DPIAs, privacy by design, retention and data Subject rights.
• Lead compliance controls across AI governance, NIS2, resilience, export controls and sanctions.
• Maintain a proportionate compliance framework with policies, risk mapping and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Security to translate regulatory requirements into practical controls.
• Embed privacy and regulatory requirements into product development, vendor management and customer assurance.
• Monitor EU/UK/US regulatory developments and advise the General Counsel and executives.
• Support enterprise sales and procurement by addressing privacy and compliance needs.
• Leverage AI tools to boost productivity and contribute to AI capabilities in workflows.
