Job summary

Lever, Inc. in France seeks a Director of Risk Management to establish and lead the risk function for a Bitcoin-focused capital markets business.

You will oversee market, credit, counterparty, liquidity, operational, and blockchain protocol risks across digital assets and traditional instruments. As a founding member of a lean, senior team, you will design governance frameworks, develop quantitative models, set exposure limits, and approve new investment strategies before launch, ensuring

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Finance, Computer Science, Mathematical Finance, or related discipline; CFA/FRM/PRM or equivalent certifications preferred.
• Senior risk management experience of 10+ years in asset managers, funds, banks, trading firms, or digital asset businesses.
• Deep understanding of Bitcoin, digital assets, capital markets, DeFi protocols, and risk across traditional and on-chain instruments.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the global risk management framework across markets, credit, liquidity, and operations.
• Define risk appetite, exposure limits, capital controls, and governance procedures for boards and committees.
• Independently approve new strategies, products, and counterparties before launch.
• Develop and maintain quantitative risk models (VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis).
• Monitor exposures daily and report emerging risks with actionable recommendations.
• Lead due diligence on counterparties, exchanges, and DeFi protocols including smart contracts.
