Jobgether is assisting a partner company in France to hire a Backend Engineer (Software Engineer: Backend). The role focuses on designing scalable APIs and robust backend services for high-volume messaging and automation workflows.

You will own the full development lifecycle in a globally distributed, asynchronous team, with strong emphasis on documenting requirements, testing, and monitoring. Meetings are held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 2:30 PM GMT.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of web API architecture and scalable APIs.
• Professional backend software engineering experience.
• Strong written and verbal English for asynchronous work.
• Ability to work independently and seek input when needed.
• Experience with high-volume systems and distributed services is advantageous.
• Fluency in English; meetings Mon/Wed/Fri 2:30 PM GMT.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop scalable APIs for new products and services.
• Lead backend initiatives from research to deployment.
• Create Engineering Requirement Documents translating ideas into plans.
• Build automated test suites to ensure quality and reliability.
• Implement product analytics and monitoring for feature success.
• Contribute to high-scale backend systems, messaging infrastructure, and core services.
• Collaborate across the lifecycle in an asynchronous environment.
• Investigate challenges and communicate designs and trade-offs clearly.
• Participate in a two-week paid work trial with a backend project.
• Monitor and improve solutions after release.
